About us!

You have what you think is a cool idea, but you aren't sure if you can convince investors about the sales potential of, say, a tiny monitor strapped to your face, or a watch that is also a computer. Besides, who are "investors" and how do you summon them from their secret offshore lairs to pass judgment on your notional widget? Wouldn't it be easier if you could just put your idea on the internet, letting regular people who might be on your wavelength pledge directly to help get it done?

Crowdfunding is a great way to validate a new concept or a new product, get the word out about it and build a community of people who are interested in supporting the project. The concept is that people see your idea and invest a small amount of money for a small reward, and then share the news about the project to others who may also be interested in supporting it – hence putting the “crowd” into “crowd-funding”. By helping to raise funds, it means that they are supporting the project to get off the ground. Some people pledge because they want the rewards (discounted products), and others pledge purely because they love the idea of the project and want to see it succeed. Backing a project is more than just pledging funds to a creator – it’s pledging your support to a creative idea that you want to see exist in the world. Knowing that your support can help to make this happen will make you feel like you’ve bought into something special and you’ll hopefully want to share it with others so that more people can help to bring the project to life.
